Hello World!
Gideon has had a wonderful week. While he is still having those fun cycles, he has not missed any more medicine. He has begun to really work toward crawling, standing, and eating. He has been much more vocal and giggly.
We have decided to increase his dosage slowly. Since his last dosage was 16mg in the AM and 8mg in the PM, we wanted to balance out the doses before increasing his morning dose. Last night (Day 22) his evening dosage was increased to 16mg, to total 32mg/day. He slept very well. He has had a better day—very smiley and noisy. After about a week of having balanced doses, if there’s no reason to keep from moving forward (like he has not acclimated yet), we will increase his morning dose to 24mg and leave his evening at 16mg. He has fully acclimated to his 16mg/8mg dosage cycle and we feel confident that he can handle the increase physiologically and psychologically.
Gideon’s PT saw him for the first time since the trial began. She was so happy to see how well he is doing. She is excited to see how this new level of motor control will help him reach the next step in his journey.
This was short, but with this dosage increase and the possible next one, I anticipate writing more. Also, if you have any questions or something you’d like to share, feel free to comment.
Thank you for reading! <3
